Revision of root canal treatment in Berlin: your specialist

It can happen that an endodontically treated tooth causes new problems (pain, abscess, failure to heal or development of a new radiologically visible inflammation of the tooth root tips). This can happen if the initial treatment was inadequately cleaned due to the complex canal anatomy and therefore bacteria and pulp tissue residues remain. Another reason may be that not all root canals could be found and treated during the primary treatment.

In many cases, crowns, build-up materials, posts, screws or fractured instruments must first be removed. The old root filling is then removed by your dentist in Friedrichshain and removed using the surgical microscope. surgical microscope is used to visualize any other root canals that may be present.

The aim of root canal treatment revision – similar to the initial treatment – is to clean and disinfect the entire interior of the tooth from the canal entrances to the root tips. Once this has been done, the clean canals are sealed with the new root canal filling and the tooth is restored with a coronal restoration (filling, partial crown or crown).
